Here’s what the 7 Week Reboot is, what is included when you join, and what results you can expect…

Phase 0: Preparation

Dates: August 31 – September 4
Purpose: Learn about the program and prepare yourself and your kitchen for success

Phase 1: Cleanse

Dates: September 5 – 29
Purpose: Use whole foods and optional supplements to turn on fat burning to lose weight, eliminate cravings, reset the immune system and hormones, rebalance the gut microbiome and reset the taste buds, while also removing foods that are known to cause problems in the body.

Phase 2: Reintroduction

Dates: September 30 – October 13
Purpose: Systematically reintroduce foods and monitor for outcomes to learn how specific foods impact your body and start to build healthy food habits while removing the attraction to and reliance on unhealthy foods. I was pretty successful at sticking with the Reboot even when I was on vacation due to the group accountability. In fact, the group conversation on Facebook is my favorite part, which is one of the reasons I’ve completed the program 2 years in a row!

The 7 Week Reboot at first seemed daunting, but was completely achievable with remarkable results to my health, outlook on nutrition, and energy. Why is the program 7 weeks long?

Despite the fact that you will see cleanses for 7 days, 10 days and even 21 days, my Reboot is 7 weeks because many people need time to build into the cleanse phase and guidance for getting back out of it. By spending more time together, we ensure that you will get more information about how certain foods impact your body and give you the opportunity to build new habits with support and guidance. Plus, you won’t be left wondering what to do once the program is over.

Remember, your body needs time to change. For example, it takes:

  • 3 – 28 days: to rebalance your microbiota (significant changes can occur in as little as 3 days, but it may take as long as 28 days to fully overhaul your microbiota depending on how many “bad” microorganisms have taken up residence)
  • 8 – 24 days: for all your taste buds to turnover (the average is 12 days)
  • 14 – 21 days: the minimum amount of time to break a habit Note: it takes 45 or more days to fully remove the attraction to an unwanted behavior, and we’ll be working together for 47 days, so you’ll be well on your way to removing the unhealthy attraction as well.
  • 14 – 28 days: to transition from burning only consumed energy to burning stored fat
  • 21 – 24 days: the minimum amount of time required for your immune system, antibodies and hormones to reset

In the 7 Week Reboot, you will learn to enjoy the taste of real food again, break your habit of reaching for a dessert / cup of coffee / glass of wine, start burning fat rather than storing it, reset your immune system which will also reduce inflammation in your body, reset your hormones so they start working for you again, and rebalance your gut flora which contributes to your health in many ways.  Your body needs time to change its behavior and it can only do that when you change your behavior long enough for your body to adjust.


Why should I do the Reboot now?

Because now is the perfect time to make a new normal! The summer is over, the kids are back in school, and you’re ready to make some lasting changes. So now is the perfect time to create a healthier, more satisfying nutrition-related normal. What if I’ve never done a cleanse before and I’m nervous?

Being nervous about something you’ve never done before is understandable. I was before my first cleanse too! Being nervous is a sign that you are growing and stretching yourself in a new direction. And let me assure you that you have nothing to be scared about. This is simply a structured period of time in which you will eat lots and lots of real food that will give your body everything it needs to function optimally.  You won’t be counting calories or weighing food so you won’t feel dragged down by administrative work.  And you definitely won’t go hungry, as this is not about feeling deprived.

Plus, we’re going to ease into the cleanse so you don’t feel overwhelmed at the beginning and then ease out of it so that you don’t have any questions about what to do once it’s over. And I’ll be there guiding you each step of the way, while your fellow group members cheer you on.

Remember: when you commit to feeding your body optimally and get the support you need to follow through, your body will reward you with loads of energy, restful sleep, balanced moods, weight loss and glowing skin.


Who should not do the 7 Week Reboot?

Anyone who is looking for a quick fix or an overnight solution should definitely not do the program.  This is not some magic pill that will turn you into Halle Berry or Bradley Cooper.  It is a structured approach using whole foods to give your body all of the nutrients it needs to truly thrive. Your liver will be in an optimal state to detoxify your body; you will starve the bad bacteria living in your gut and feed the good bacteria; you will teach your body to burn fat rather than store it; you will break your dependence on sugar, caffeine and alcohol; you will reset your taste buds so you can really enjoy the many beautiful nuances in real food; you will rebalance your hormones so they work to your advantage; and you will establish or improve super healthy eating habits. 

The 7 Week Reboot is only for those people who want to look and feel like the best version of themselves and are ready to put in some effort to move toward that goal.


Is it realistic for me to do this program while taking care of my family?

Absolutely this is realistic with a family! In fact, it’s an incredibly positive thing for your family to see you taking care of yourself and improving your eating habits. Remember, it is a whole food based program so you will still be eating real food and will eat as often during the day as you need, so long as you are sticking to the allowed foods.

Many participants find that their partner chooses to do at least part of the program with them. And participants who are responsible for feeding kiddos use the opportunity to teach those children more about eating healthy and bringing awareness to the kids about how foods impact them. It can be a family affair (either partially or completely).

That being said, some people don’t follow through with dietary changes unless they have skin in the game (and let’s be honest, paying for something increases our commitment significantly). So, in addition to creating camaraderie and support between you and your partner, the discount for two people signing up at the same time is intended to give your partner a sense of responsibility for following through on his or her own health improvement. (Of course, the second person doesn’t have to be your partner… it could be your child, your mom or your best friend.)

Even if none of your friends or family decide to do the program with you and continue to eat their normal way, you will get plenty of support from me and your fellow group members to be successful. In fact, past participants have indicated that the accountability, support and encouragement from the group is one of their favorite parts of the program and helps them be successful to the end.


Does the program require a lot of expensive supplements?

The program does not require any supplements at all. I provide a list of optional supplements and why each one could be used so that each participant can choose to use them (or not!). As well, you can choose to use only one or more of them as you see fit based on your personal situation. I promise you will see results without the supplements.

That being said, I do provide supplement recommendations as they can give additional support during the process and some people find it easier to stay on track by using them.


Does the program still work if I don’t follow it perfectly? Like if I cheat sometimes?

Part of the purpose of the Reboot is so that your body will normalize to a new way of functioning. As such, following the guidelines as written will give you the best results.

For example, if you are dependent on a Trenta latte to wake up in the morning, then your brain and/or adrenal glands may not be following a normal circadian rhythm. If you continue to have that Trenta latte, even if it is only every third day, then your body will not fully adjust its circadian rhythms and will continue to be dependent on the caffeine for “normal” functioning.

Of course, it is up to you to determine how closely you follow the protocol, and I have no intention of policing anyone. I do firmly believe, however, that the results will be the most noticeable and desirable when the program is followed exactly. Plus, there are some “cheat” days built into the program so that you can really develop new eating habits that will work for “normal” (i.e., every day) life.
